Yeah, wow. With the grey texture it looks great. I think this design could perhaps fit som maps, at least some of Strahlemanns maps. He has some cool design and very good at furnishing, so to say. For some reason the grey texture feels more 'Nexuizish' :P

Doc-Pyton that minigunner thing looks awsome! gj.

Welcome back Morphed, image link dont work, but the thumb look sweet. ill implement a turret based on that soon.

Thats an interesting concept Rad Ished, tho im not sure what gun it is, somethign hagar-ish perhas.


As for how many; im not making one turret for every nexuiz gun; most turrets sofar use weapons not used by players. The precise # is anyones guess :P heres the list sofar:

Plasma, Dual Plasma : basicaly a automated electro. dual vrsion has higher ROF
Minigun : does what you'd expect. use its spinuptime to get to cover or become gibs :twisted:
MLRS : Big bad RL, unguided
Hellion : MLRS With guided rockets, fiers in vollys of 2
Hunter-killer: Fires guided rocke capable of avoiding obstacles, rocket will pick a new target on its own if the old dies.
Gauss : "nexgun"
point-defense: Kills hostile rockets
HOF:
<Diablo> the nex is a "game modification"
<Diablo> quake1 never had a weapon like that.
<Vordreller> there was no need for anything over 4GB untill Vista came along
<Samua>]Idea: Fix it? :D

Nice turret you have there. Great clean style that fits everywhere :)

@DocPython: I prefer the grey concept. The green one would fit better in a more natural environment (a jungle or a forest) but then it would need some scratches here and there. Otherwise it would look too polished.
Also some scratches and some dirt would fit to the grey one, so it looks like it has been used for a while and is not a brand new turret out of the factory ;)
Overall a great concept.
And I'd like to see an additional base for the turret, but don't get me wrong. that spider-like base looks very good 8)

will the turrets also have alt fire modes? depending on distance, for example, or number of targets.

offtopic:
thinking of the turrets and alt fire modes reminded me of the exploding ammo boxes mod. im not sure if ammo should explode, but other exploding elements like proximity mines or explosive barrels would be fun.

Atm all turrets fire with just one mode, however each unit supports 0-4 guns and theres nothign limithing taht to the same kinda fire. You could fairly easy make a ex. minigun+rocket turret, whats needs to be done is make some smart system to select the best gun for the job (prediction, aming and so on depends on the weapons projectile speed and so on) a turret could shoot multimple types of rounds from the same gun too, that could be a bit confusing tho.
