I don't thing the turrets from Morphed are bad but just simple design and they have very sample textures in my opinion they look to "normal" for a game like nexuiz ...... he make a block and just bevelled the edges and made a white line on them....

if you look true doc-pytons turrets they look very nice textures whit much details.....and moving barrels witch would be very nice if they start slow and then speed up and the in this case it would fire maybe 4 bullet each turn Thad would sound and look really cool.

You know, in most cases simplicity is what looks the best, and in this case I have to say that Morphed turrets looks a little better. Not saying Doc's is bad though, just not fitting the style of Nexuiz.

As a 3D artist I've seen lots of work and I can tell that 8 out of 10 cases, the people who created simple things gets the best results (unless they are professionals with monster equipment to create detailed and awesome stuff).

Two things:
1. You combined Novas quote with mine, which confused me a bit as I see a spelling error there, and I'm very careful I spell right :D (And it doesn't make sense that way)

2. What does 'qft' mean?

I like the idea of being able to deploy automated turrets in deathmatch games. If they look cool, and it's fun to blow them up, they'd be great. I think they'd only really be worthwhile if they were really powerful though. If they were wussy like the Half-Life sentries it would be too easy, but if they were so powerful they could literally affect the routes your opponents started to take... well that could really make the gameplay interesting.

Ok I have an idea you ask how to make a turret "think" so Thad the turret which is next to the target starts to fire...

My idea is if a target is in rage of the turret start a tracer and then you got the end vector and then you can calculate which turret is next to the target and then let’s start this turret to fire
