"No worldspawn in map"

Postby Clueless Newbie » Fri Oct 19, 2007 11:21 pm

This map I've been working on suddenly won't load, and all GtkRadiant tells me is "No worldspawn in map". And then it creates a new map for me.

Eh?

How can I add this missing worldspawn (whatever it is) when the map won't even open? I tried importing the map into the new map, and that seemed to work until I tried merging it. When I get to the VIS phaze, I'm told the .prt file wouldn't load. So now I have two useless map files.. ;p

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

You can fix it using a text editor, but make a backup first. The first line with "classname" should read:

"classname" "worldspawn"

If you fix that, GtkRadiant will load your map again.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
