Well, I've got bots working in this, but it's hard to get them do do much. Trying to get them to move around more, and use some teleporters.

Also, the map, although it builds with no problems and pretty fast (15-20 minute compile time on my machine, maybe?) I got a little sloppy, for those of you who look at the .map in GTKR. But, it works.

Looking for feedback, ideas, things to fix, add, remove, etc., just so there's another map that's worth playing out there.. thanks!

I don't know if it's me but I couldn't load the textures, so I can only comment the gameplay aspect, even if the screenshots you posted look very nice. :wink:
It's fun to move on a room with jumppads and teleporters location, that give speed etc. But unfortunately you keep the same schema for all the map, only the light colour change. I think it's better to have less rooms but with more variety (no symmetric), in order to make the map more interesting and difficult to control in deathmatch.

The textures wouldn't load? I'm about to test it on my Ubuntu Studio, I'll see if something is whacked, sorry about that!

I started with a room idea, and ended up building a new map from that, so there was a lot of importing the map, move the map, recolor the map, etc. Perhaps, I can knock out some walls, and give some more, but different play areas (I think I have some ideas already).

OK, I had been working in a folder called 'adarkplace', and then made a new one called 'a_dark_place_b1' and copied over the files I needed, but, the .map file still referenced the old filesystem. I'm doing a find/replace right now in the .map file, and then will recompile. I'll still have to sort out knocking out walls and such, but I'll at least repost the map once I have the textures fixed,,,

ok, it was taking way to long to find/replace the path name, so I renamed the folder back to 'adarkplace', and it's working now (tested), so here's the link again, thank you.

i don't play dm at all really cept some tdm. but i wanted to ask you if this map is ever going to be for ctf play? the majority of what i play is ctf and tbh i like your maps so far so i was hoping you'd do a ctf one sometime.

*needs a hope emoticon* hehe

Yes, I do plan to make this a CTF, so if anyone has some tips, please chime in! I'm starting to knock out some walls and introduce some more play areas, and I have a couple of zones that are already meant for CTF. It may be a bit before I have beta2 ready, but I'm open to any ideas (I just like making maps, although I do plan to play the game again someday soon!)

I've officially decided to stop work on this map. I started adding too much stuff, and it was no longer a fun map to run around in. I liked the idea for some of it, but I'm not enjoying it any more, so I woudn't expect anyone else too either.

I think I'm going to flatten it out a bit, rip off the roofs of all the rooms, make a cool skybox, and try a CTF/KH mode of sorts, with DM capability.

Looking at some of the other recent maps (not to mention existing ones), reminded me to think a little more clearly about what I'm trying to accomplish.
