There was a problem with the beta 2 pack, download the latest (beta 3) below

This is my first map, a fast paced ctf map. Please let me know of any errors or bugs.

I'd like to thank all the guys on irc for their help, Ronan, divVerent, TVR, Rad_Ished, tZork and various others, without your help I wouldn't have been able to create a map so quickly.

It's good to know there is such a helpful community backing this game :)

The second line in the *.txt file specifies the path for the preview (without extension). You wrote "maps/ctf_zion_beta_1" but the picture is called "zion_beta_1.jpg", so remove the ctf_ and it'll work.

Water with a nex in the center :) it should make for some intense action as going in the water will slow you down.

[-z-], I've played this map a couple times since Galt threw it up. Couple things:

1) Awesome first map! The layout of the catwalks is spiffy. Item placement is fun. A good mix of tight/blind corners and running room.

2) It should be scaled up. As it stands one can cap in about two seconds by rocket jumping between the bases. I have no idea if it's feasible to mess with the map scale - but if so, maybe try 1.25 to 1.5 of current. Single rocket jumping from base to base should be just barely possible. Also, move the ceiling up a lot higher and add either a swirly skybox or - heh - water.

No, I can't count.

Oh, and does it need music? I can cook something up in Cakewalk just for you. :D

EDIT: Sounds like it does have some sort of music? Very quiet, though.

Yes, it does need scaled up. There's certain places where a player can't get to without crouching, e.g. some of the health under the stairs and also one of the base entrances.

Very cool map concept, though.

In my defense, I think the fastest cap I got on this map was ~5.26 :P. However, the map is more open than it appears. Try rocketing the carrier through the base walls or floor if makes it into the doorway. With that said...

I was considering expanding it, wasn't sure how people would feel but now that I have the support of at least two other players, I know it's a good idea. I will expand this map in the future :). I'm going to have to come back to this project as I wrap up Nexuiz Ninjaz and the stats script though.
