MASSIVE MAP

Well let's get to thepoint i want to make a massive DM or TEAM DM map but i have little experience so i'm looking for some help and as I have said I have no XP in doing them so I don't know how big it can be b4 it will be no longer playable because of the area

I want it to look like the factory from Star Wars II together with the arena and office rooms and large halls that are used to project new robots or some high tech compund like a massive factory.
I only made isotromic games, websites an unfinishe flash game!

q3map2 (map compiler) will proly start crying abt size at some point, however you are likely to run into seriose preformace issues ingame before this happens. at least if you have a open design in mind, like that factory thing (iirc). not to mention the epic compiletimes you wil face on very very very large maps ;) i sugest you try making a smaller map in rougtly the same style first to get an idea of the amount of work involved and get a feel for, and some experiance with, mapping.

is ther a kind of nexRAIDANT to make maps (like mohaaradiant)

no. you can use gtkradiant 1.4 and 1.5 for Nexuiz.
1.5 have Nexuiz in the list of games when you start it.

ok guys now any willing to supply me with info about where to download LOADS of textures???

btw i'm looking for help...

i want to make it really detailed and i thinks about making the map look like a massive hotel
Kurz in Masso Corto hehe (9 floors 2 levels of underground parkings and summink about 3 staircases and 3 bars)

ok i got started but...

i think every hotel needs a thing like a map or summinink on the wall, so HOW do I MAKE my own textures?

I think this will be easier than shell

Making your own textures, you need a 2d editing program (I recommend GIMP or Photoshop). Usually when I make my own textures I use base textures and modify them.

In your case, you are making map textures, so... hmm... you'll be wanting seamless tileable textures. There are a lot available for free online. So I suggest you try those first (concrete, sand, ground, grass, etc are examples of these type of textures). Ideally, the larger these tileable textures are, the better, so you won't get that icky squaring effect.

Also a suggestion. Take the robot player models and use them as static decorations. ;) You said a Robot factory, right? Arrange them in rows in places. Heh. Would be interesting.

ok man as i have noticed the textures are .tga or did i confuse them with models
ONE BIG PROBLEM how do i make models???
