This map should be equally suitable for DM, KH, and CTF.

While it is possible to play DM and KH on this map, it's map for CTF games. Really spammy CTF games.

Not so clueless newbie.
Really nice work, the most 'outdoors' i ever felt on a nex map. Damnit , this is the type of map i bin wanting to make for ages. I really nice demonstration of what could be in nexuiz. Nice solution to the edge of map problem.
I kept hoping to see a doorway or cave to go potholing in.

Should give some nice key hunt games :)
Less sure about ctf, but need to be tested in-game anyway.

Hehe I wanted to improve my electro spawn fragging (can be useful in the eggandbacon enemy base) nice.
However, the vis could probably be improved with capturecity-like hint brush. But let see if people complain about performance first.

Hm.. There are hardly any "real" brushes in this map - just the bounding box and a few brief wall sections. Everything else are bevels and caps. I was under the impression that hints and prolonged VIS compiles wouldn't make much difference. But then I'm still not sure I understand the hint textures, despite everything...

If people do complain then I'll need some tips on how to do this.

I didn't include one because I thought people didn't care. But I've uploaded Blastedlands again - and this time it has a .map file. Same link as in the OP. Have fun. B)

PS: The VIS compile for this map took over a week - and yes, it was worth it.

erm there has to be something wrong there.
Another thing did you use divverents q3map2 patch?
And if so, how.

I was under the impression that divverents patch dealt with holes in the maps, not compile times.

As for needing a week to compile - this is, afaik, typical of space levels unless you use the FAST switch. And Blastedlands is in many respects a space level.
