need a little help

I was mapping some stuff in gtk radiant but , my custom textures only works when i add then in someone else directory like evil dir .. otherwise it doesnt show up in the texture list

I got some nice textures , for a new city map but in my own map it doesnt show up

do i need to tag the textures , like the evel textures ?

im able to map with them but , only when i put them in a existing dir like evil
is there a other way ?

in my own dir it doesnt show up. and they are jpg`s

I see only the textures that are definded in the shader list are showing up

not showing up when i put them in textures/urban dir for example

how do i tagg them seperatly , it seems it only apear in the texture list when there is a shader file for it .

so i tryed to make my own dir /texture/urban1 and in scripts a file urban1.shader

and putted it in shaderlist.txt but no still doesnt show up

what radiant version?

Is radiant pointing to your dataXXXXX.pk3 or a did you inflate it to another directory?
Check your engine path setting.
What I did was point gtkradiant to my nexuiz folder and only inflated the textures I needed to edit.

The important folders are these (you probably already know this):

nexuiz (point engine path here)
nexuiz/textures/ (only subfolders of here will be parsed)

Example folders"
nexuiz/data/textures/ihsan_walls (appears as ihsan/walls in radiant)
nexuiz/data/textures/ihsan_grates (appears as ihsan/grates in radiant)
nexuiz/data/textures/ihsan_grassy (appears as ihsan/grassy in radiant)

I also extracted the data.pk3 and the path to the engine in radiant is good

but i tryed to make my own folder with my textures to show up in the texture browser

I see all other textures but ,
only the ones that are in the shaderlist.txt are apearing in the texture browser

when i make a folder with textures it doesnt show my foldername in texture browser

I have to put mine textures in someone else folder or it doesnt show up
I already map some things , i was making bumps and shaders for my textures.

but its weird that i cant make my own dir to show up , i have to hack my files in someone else his folder

will look for 1.4 then . im sure i did everything right

1.5 has a "show shaders only" option iirc, sounds like thats on. should be under the texture menu.

after a lot of fiddeling suddely it works , yeeeh my folder is working now , tnxs

I was trying to make this

the brushes are easy im working on the lights atm

im gone make a funnel map like in ut but then in temple style

i want all the light to come from outside so it looks natural

im going to edit the sky shader to give it more light

some other question ,

q3map_surfacelight and q3map_lightimage does that work on jpg ? or only tga

I made a texture transparent with jpg but not light emited
