Nexrun (lame name)

Ok, I've decided its time to let the rest of the nexuiz community try it out. The ninjaz would have gotten too big of a head start if i just released this next map to them.

This is not meant to be final in any way, but I thought its good enough to let you guys start practicing and having some fun trying to beat each others times. Lots of stuff will change still, so your times will eventually have to be thrown out.

There are 2 maps included in the zip, nexrun1, and nexrun2, but they dont have mapcfgs or anything, so you will just have to type map nexrun1 in the console for example. To install it just unzip it to Nexuiz folder (not data folder), and then run nexuiz with -game nexrun. The rest of the code has not been updated to the SVN code, so impulse 77 or whatever it was wont work.

11.86 on nexrun1 from myself, not tried to beat it in ages..see if anyone else can for now :)
35.56 (i think) on nexrun2 at the moment, i can improve this though think a 33s run will be possible.

Thanks Rev! I'm loving nexrun2. I'll post my dems when I finally get the run where each phase is the way I want it.

yep yep nice map.

Revenant only change i can think of at the moment, is to fully take away the hagar after the part where you use it to hagar up the wall.

it's too easy to complete the rest of the map using the mortar + hagar and not grabbing the rocket launcher, because when you get the ammo again you can use the hagar again.....

I must have misunderstood something or whatever the fuck, I can't get it to run. :(

First I downloaded the zip file and unzipped it into my Nexuiz 2.3 directory, I started with the mentioned parameters and - Nexuiz ran just as usual.

I started once again, unzipped the file into a folder "Nexrun" which is located in the Nexuiz directory, I started with the mentioned parameters and - Nexuiz ran just as usual.

I wonder, have I done something wrong, or did I oversee an important thing? What should really happen when I start -game nexrun, and what to do then???

The zip already contains the nexrun directory iirc, so just extract it into Nexuiz 2.3 dir. I didnt change the menu at all, so when you run it with -game nexrun, it should look like normal nexuiz. Try typing map nexrun1 in the console.

so I take it the first map can be done just with plain movement ?

after 10 tries I stopped, as I can't do it, I don't see a way of how to do it --> demos pls :D

That is my nexrun1 demo. It is my first day with this mode, so I still need more practice, and I am not sure if it is the fastest way :) Time ~15 sec.

Kojn got 11.86s on the first map. And Green, it doesnt use original nex physics, but modified ones in the autoexec.cfg.
