New map: Arahia

I present you my new map, Arahia first map designed only for domination, yet it changes alot to that not so popular gamemode.

each team is spawned at own base, when you capture points you and your teammates will be able to spawn in that area

it have reflective water but its outdoor map and it kill fps but it looks nice on screenshots and movies :)

i hit all limits with this map, it cant be bigger becouse vis is complaining, it cant have more sophisticated terrain or more rocks becouse it wont clip them (you will be falling through them ) and i cant have more trees becouse they kill shadow generation :)

to create server (or play alone with bots) you need latest svn version of nexuiz, once again its only needed for server, if you dont know how to compile gamecode from svn and want to test map with bot put this into data just remember to delete it after 2.4.1 will be released http://www.morphed.planetnexuiz.com/pro ... arahia.pk3

looks awesome. I'm thinking that since 2.4 was released we'll be seeing more and more outdoor maps now.

Do you think Green will put a dedicated server up for it like ons-reborn?
I love the way it notifies you : Rad_Ished captured 'A' factory, not 'THE' factory, how big is this thing?!?!?
The dirt in the hoppers at the mine doesn't clip.
That tree, i can't tell, is that just one model? or more?
Also is there a thread about terrain generation and/or using fog in q3map2 to get good fps in large maps?
Really cool work Morphed, how much time to make this?

I am baffled, is this still Darkplaces ? Awesome ! I would love this to be on a public server so I can play it 'the easy way' :)

Map looks very cool.

Is a updated progs.dat also needed when NOT having bots on that map? If so, why ?

I'm glad you like it and I cant wait to see it online too :)

it needs new progs.dat because I attached spawn points and colour changing walls to capture points and that feature is new
with out it, it will work like ordinary dom map, you will be spawned all over the place even next to points already captured by enemy.

I think that such chaos is main reason why dom is not popular at all, best tactic for ordinary dom is to find loop between all points and run as fast as you can trying to ignore any fight

I still miss 1 feature, I would like capture points take some time to capture, not instant

Maybe capturing when you stand on a point for x seconds?

But that would be a problem if the point is the enemy's last, they all spawn there then...

If I were you I'd write a bug report which contains s.th. similar to

"g_domination_point_capturetime has no effect"

If you search the sources you'll find out that this cvar is never ever used, hence either delete this variable from default.cfg or give it a meaning.
