Well, I got a job doing software development. The problem is, after an 8-hour day of that, I am completely fried, to the point where I just don't have the energy to open yet more source code and develop something, even though it's a game I enjoy. I haven't had the will to do much more than play video games and spend time with friends. It's hard just to pull up a chat window or visit the forums a lot of the time. I don't quite know why, but I've developed an aversion to a lot of the things I used to love, probably because they involve work and thus energy. Plus when I get home I need to relax, offload, release a lot of tension and stress, and video games do that for me better than programming. Right now I just played my Conquest mod for 4 hours, enjoying it thoroughly. I really want to work on it, but I can't get myself to do it. Same with Nexuiz.
I'm working on reversing the trend. I'm going to try to get into developing Nexuiz again, but I can't promise anything. :/ I'll probably just lurk around in the forums for a while and mull over ideas until I'm ready to try implementing one.
Sorry to have been such a flake.

Regarding weapons, Nexuiz tends to lean towards strategy-based weapons -- Firing grenades and then detonating them for extra damage, timing the detonation of rockets, knowing when to use the hagar's ballistic alt-fire, pushing opponents off cliffs with the laser rather than relying on damage, etc... I noticed that UT2004's shock rifle comes from the same mentality -- if you can manage to use it strategically you can do some very bad things to the enemy.
I'm wondering what kinds of new weapons could contribute toward this theme.
I also want more straight-forward weapons, since not all players like to have to pull tricks in order to kill.

I think adding some new specialized weapons as optional guns will also be nice for adding new game modes (where those weapons are really useful). For example, anti-vehicle missiles and an electricity gun that also charges & activates base turrets, link nodes, etc.
