hi there,
i found a lot of nice nexuiz maps on http://user.uni-frankfurt.de/~jsiegl/ but all of these maps are distributed without a license and it's not recoverable where these maps were downloaded from and to ask each author for a license.
if you find your map(s) on http://user.uni-frankfurt.de/~jsiegl/ it would be great if you post to this thread were to download your map(s) and by which license it is/they are covered. as nexuiz is fully licensed under the gpl it would be nice if your map is also covered by the gpl or a gpl-compatible license. if you didn't think about a license for your map, yet, you can have a look at http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html . again the gpl or a gpl-compatible license would be appreciated!
i'm writing this post, because i'm working in the debian games team and i'm helping to package nexuiz for debian and i would like to create a package which ships additional maps for nexuiz. supplying a licenses to maps eases up redistributing maps and probably other distribution benefit from licensed and freely redistributable maps, too!
if you've got any questions about licensing stuff, don't hesitate to ask!
cheers, fuddl
