How did he (Polzer?) do the shifting colors? I can't find anything in the .pk3 that would cause any behavior like that (other than the slightly odd gimp texture). Simply dumping the "platten" texture in a map didn't do the trick.

Really curious about this. 8)

I think its certainly a very nice effect, other than the fact by the end of the match I end up with a headache.... even as a seasoned gamer :shock:

Certainly something interesting to find out.
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.

Seriously: the walls are a misc_models entity. These have "colormap" set to select shirt color 15 and pants color 15. These specially reserved colors do slow smooth color cycling...

how the cycling is done, you can't change, though. But as the cycled colors are multiplied with the one in the shirt/pants image file, you can get different results (like a pulsating red) if you make just a red _shirts.tga file.

The cycling of shirt and pants color 15 is identical, except for their speed.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Too bad you need a misc_models entity to do this. Makes it hard or impossible to do this as a part of a texture. Well, it's still cool. B)
