It's been talked about that the flag carrier shouldn't be allowed to use weapons for several reasons, but mainly it is not to rocket yourself over the whole map capping in 3 sec. Even with laser people can gain tremendous speed. It would actually be fun to be able to stop the flag carrier even for newbies and not just those that are really good players. I vote for a more newbie friendly game.
However, using the flag as a weapon is just one idea. Others have been to lower the power of laser or increase it's damage to the player (for the flag carrier that is), give him a new weapon etc. etc.
