TRaK4 texture set

Postby TRaK » Tue Nov 11, 2008 6:27 pm

This is a pack of industrial/grunge map textures I've been working on over the past few months.

Download: http://www.mercenariesguild.net/trak/fi ... es-mit.zip
(~90mb)

The pack is ~60 textures of mostly 512 resolutiuon with normalmaps and alpha channel bumpmaps in *_nm, and specular maps in *_s. I'm aware this isn't the format nexuiz uses, sorry about that. If anyone fixes the filenames, let me know and I'll link to the fixed pack on my website :)

Please note I haven't tested the specular maps at all so they may look odd in some cases.

The pack is licensed under the MIT/X11 license, and I included the source .psd files so people can modify them easily.
I assume that MIT is an acceptable license for distribution with nexuiz, because it's gpl compatible?

Here's a few shots of them in a quake2world test room, no spec maps applied:

And here's a couple shots of them at work in q3, diffuse only:

Enjoy :)

Are we sure these textures are free and clear to use in nexuiz . i do not want to be part of copywrite infringement .

I like them. I might use some of them in my next map. Hope to release everything under GPL.. so I hope it's compatible.. If someone please could clarify this.

MIT license is compatible (creative commons is not).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_so ... compatible or you can check a list at gnu.org

Nexuiz was declared the first '100% GPL' FPS as a method of branding itself.

MIT license is compatible.

However, I think we have to require you to share the email from cgtextures.com (including full headers from the mail, for authenticity) with us so we can disprove the claims by leileilol. But that should be all.

Great that normalmaps and glossmaps are already included, that'll make including them with Nexuiz much easier. But not sure if the normalmaps are the right format, someone will have to check that (possibly, one of the color components of the normalmaps needs inverting).
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
