There seems to be some ugly texture-stretching artifacts in the eyes, I guess this needs some UV tweakage. Looks like you can increase the polycount somewhat as well.

I think "werefox" is more Nexuiz than "furry fox" - A more slender, agile and cunning counterpart to lycanthrope (with the 1.2.1 werewolf skin of course, not the current "teddy bear" skin)

Ooh, and make it augmented with some mechanical parts too, half-way between a typical furry anthropomorphic vixen and a typical twisted hybrid of flesh and steel you find in DOOM3 or Quake4.

Kinda like an anthro vixen analogue to a cyberdemon. Or a hunter from Prey with canine features. Something that's furry and utterly horrific at the same time.

Could probably be a nice idea. I didn't really want to make something zombie-like either though, but more like a warrior / solider fox with armor and probably some wounds over the body and such... something that looks more like the female soldiers or cops you see in movies :) I used Photoshop to make the skin but probably shouldn't have put so much sharpness effects on it. As for making it more agile, I'd need to change the animation and bone movement too which would probably be a bit more difficult (the animation is unchanged from the pyria model).

Well, I meant agile more in appearance than in movement - slimmer and more nimble looking than the relatively heavily built lycanthrope. I guess the actual "agility" is down to the player  All of the current playermodels use the same animation set for now.

I've recontinued working on this player model and thought to post my update here as well. For the time being I reworked the model and heavily improved the head design as well as some texture changes. Most of all I created another model and added more skins, so now this pack contains 4 different characters :D

The 4th vixen is fully colorable from shirt / pants colors, so her fur and body can be colored any way you want (apart from team games). I also added gloss maps for shiny eyes and silky fur. Here's a screenshot of each character:

Once again feel free to put this on your server and redistribute it if you wish. I'd actually appreciate it if other servers had it running in case anyone's interested in these chars :)

Updated to version 2.1 (previous was V2 but I forgot to version it). New changes include:

- Added species category in txt files for the new per-species gibs in SVN. If you aren't running Nexuiz from SVN you'll see a "species human" line in the character chooser so don't worry (human because that's red gibs and blood).

- Fixed .zym.sounds files, had forgotten these.

- Set the first player model to use Specop's female voice, it's more suited with that. Second still uses the Pyria voices.

- Silver fox: Fixed overly sharp eyes by blurring them a bit, eyes looked like tattoos when you looked too close.

- Silver fox: Though the character looked male, setting gender to that was wrong as the model's voice was still female and can't be changed per character. Since I didn't want them to be all female either, I took the risk and marked her as shemale in description :P

- Blue fox: Instead of blue & purple I recolored her to purple & gold because blue was very confusing in team games. Purple is the color between red and blue so it should look perfectly even in team games now.

Download links updated in first post.

Updated to 2.11. Fixed outdated .zym.sounds file and added bots file for the new customizable bots in SVN.

To use the new bots, start the game and set bot_config_file to foxbots.txt (it's not stored between sessions so it reverts to bots.txt next time you start the game). I included 5 bots named after similar characters I made in UT2k4. If you wish to have both the fox bots and the default bots, copy the bots from foxbots.txt into the official bots.txt (don't leave any empty lines, just paste them right after). Since I always like posting shots of what I do, here's some pictures from the fox party :)
