GtkRadiant wont load map

Postby dr1985 » Thu Mar 05, 2009 12:47 am

I am new to GtkRadiant, so I don't know a lot about it, but have been spending some time working on a map. When I was working on it last I got an error message (sorry don't remember what it said). and now when I try to open my map all it says at the bottom is:

entity 0: parse error
map load timer: 0.09 second(s) elapsed
--- LoadMapFile ---
C:/Program Files/Nexuiz/data/maps/Map.map
0 primitive
0 entities

Is there something I can do to fix this? I also tried to reinstall GtkRadiant, and tried opening it in NetRadiant and it does the same thing. Any ideas?

Any help is much appreciated!

Does that map exist? Open it up in notepad and see if there is any text in there.

Nevermind, I fixed it.

I noticed that in the error it said, 397:75: parse error at '1.#QNAN': expected '#number'. So in my .map file I saw that one of my brushes somehow got messes up, so deleted it (that section of code) and not it works fine. Not sure why it did that, but it works now.

So if anyone else get a similar problem, just delete that brush in the .map file, save it, them try it agian.

I have the exact same problem, yet I still do not understand exactly how you found what was wrong...

3654:2: parse error at '}': expected '#integer'
brush 400: parse error
entity 0: parse error

I opened it in word-pad, and I don't understand what to look for... I did Find on '}', but there are like 3 per brush, and there are 500 some brushes in the document.
I saved this map quite often, because this has happened before and I didn't want to lose my map - yet this error occurs on all the saved files.
