Credit for a facing world mod?

Postby Clueless Newbie » Fri Jun 05, 2009 9:42 am

I'm making a new version of Facing Worlds (as if e didn't have enough of those... ;)), and I wonder what sort of credits I should give for it. It's a complete rework - all new brushes, new textures, etc. The layout is fairly close to the original, though. The players will need about two seconds to recognize it.

Any thoughts on this?

i have a suggestion for it tho . some players use a high contrast color for whatever reason . i was approached by [rev]Surb to pull out some of the contrast on the ground textures . after opening it up i found alot of things that could be updated and fixed . anyway the ground contrast could be darker .

to your question : i would look into the nexuiz FW pk3 and see if there are any shout outs and what not in a readme file . i would carry those over into the new remake with whatever you want to add ontop of it .
Master ? Do you call me Grasshopper because I am cunning and stealthy?

Thanks, but I'm mostly done with my version. Barring bugs, all that's left are the lights and object placement. 8)

The readmes and so on are (as far as I can see) from the guy who made the prev version (Brutalis). But the version I'm working on doesn't have a single brush or sprite copied from other versions. I suppose I could include the readme, but that would be the only thing left from Brutalis's version. I was originally just going to retexture the map, but I ended up discarding everything.

I suppose I should put in a note somewhere about this being a map from the original UT or something.

Will the bases be more complex? I find the current facing worlds to be somewhat boring nowadays because there is so little base.

It's almost a straight shot.

The shot is still straight. ;)
