Any map makers interested gis a shout...

Nice. 8)

Nexuiz needs more music, IMHO — as a part of the standard package. Not just more music, but more styles of music. Sometimes a mapmaker wants techno, sometimes ambient, sometimes folk music. As a mapmaker, I sometimes find it hard to find track that suits my needs, which is why I tend to use the same track in all my maps. :?

I wouldn't mind a "music update" for Nexuiz. Include a large variety of tracks and it might reduce the need to include custom tracks with the .pk3s.

Agreed!

I always try to produce something different, usually depending on mood. Sometimes it comes out hard, sometimes funky & sometimes chilled. A sample, drum pattern or synth selection also chooses the direction of my music. If my music wasnt varied I would find it difficult to keep motivated, after all music is an expression!

If you want any of my music for your maps CN just let me know.

I agree. SCORP, if your music is made of entirely original or compatible materials and you are willing to release under the GPL or a compatible license, I think you should ask the Nexuiz devs about getting your tracks into the official game and its maps. Too few maps that ship with Nex have their own music or music of this quality.

All of my music is compatible, no samples taken from film, tv or stolen from other peoples music. All original or taken from free to use sample packs. Im sure by now the nex devs are aware of my music, as yet ive never been approached. I would be happy for them to be released in the official game and I def feel many of them would work well in nexuiz!

As the devs have stated, and this can often be the case in FOSS projects in general, Nexuiz is a 'community' project where anyone with good skills can jump in and contribute, but the other contributors and devs probably won't take the initiative to ask you to release your work under GPL and add it to the game. You have to give 'em a nudge sometimes.

BTW, I was listening through your play list and was surprised to find the track used for the map "Gasoline Powered" in there (Meltdown); I basically vote and play that map for the music! :D
