Rapid terraforming with patches, and NetRadiant SVN
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Just for the note, the performance issue was fixed by div today in the Darkplaces SVN. You can now make huge patch terrains and shoot them even with the shotgun, the performance hardly drops :D http://dev.alientrap.org/issues/show/350 If grenades falling through wasn't an issue patch terrain would be just perfect.

No, as nobody knows what may be causing it. We just know a lot of things NOT causing it...
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Fixed as well in the latest SVN, no more grenades falling through either :D

Not fixed, rockets and electro primary shots still SOMETIMES get through.

But entirely fixed for grenades and electro balls, yes.

So the bouncing weapons that come in contact with the surface can no longer fall through but a select two of the explode-at-first-contact weapons can still get through? That's really weird.

Anything with a thickness still has the bug.

Grenades used the code path for brush with thickness because they have a zero size bbox that is offset - that was detected wrong. Now they use the line trace case too.

For rockets, the bug however is very seldom as their bbox has an actual size. I only have reproduced it once when trying VERY often. It really does not happen near as often as grenades falling through.
