Well, in almost every game you see a small intro movie with "A game by:" or something like that.

Nexuiz used to have one


It can be done in dpv... we just need someone to make one.


dpvs can be created from a series of images, much like an animated gif.

It cannot be too large in file size and I'm not sure it's actually 'skipable' which might have been why it was originally removed.


You should use an open format like ogv for sharing your video, I had a little trouble playing it.

nice video though, if this skipable thing can be figured out, perhaps it can be included.

p.s. 40mb for 8 second clip = super lame

if i can find the old dpv code for nexuiz's logo.dpv i might be able to adapt it to more than just an intro vid. and if i had the time i could make one or too. dpv also supports sound, not sure how to add the sound when using dpvencoder.

But you'll probably need to edit the engine code to create a way to 'skip it' -- this is if I remember properly.

I believe the video was in 1.1 so look at an older revision around there ;o)
