Is it possible to change behavior of people on the game ?

Hello,
i want to know if it's possible to change the behavior of peoples on the game, for exemple :
if i made a weapon emergency toolkit and i use it on a person on the game, it will refill energy to this people ? is it possible to do so ?

other exeample : to make a special weapon created to change the color of clothes of ennemy ?

How to do that ?

Huh, I thought this was about something like an automated translator for people like XSAX or something like that.

Well I am not sure if I understand you correctly, but if you would like to add custom weapons, you of course will not be able to do that during an online game nor apply any custom weapons to anyone on a standard public server.

But what you can do anytime is to have a look at the source code and start coding to implement a weapon that you think you would like to see ingame. If you succeed at that, you can then use such weapon on your local machine or even set up a server that provides this custom weapon. If you intend to develop a weapon that gets added to the official game then I'd suggest to get in touch with the developers on IRC (see the Thread http://forums.alientrap.local/viewtopic.php?t=3807 for more info).

If you do not like coding, then the best solution would be to post your ideas about new weapons here, with some more detail about what they could do and hope for a productive discussion. (Good luck :wink:)

You need to modify the source code for this.
The svn repository for nexuiz is svn://svn.icculus.org/nexuiz/trunk

Ok i need to moddify the source code, but where are the files about weapons ? :roll:

What are .md3 and .zym, how to edit them ? (if i need to ?)

Are you really sure you are capable of editing the source code? Please forgive my asking, but you do not exactly sound like someone who has sort of coding experience... If you feel you are capable of doing this by yourself even after taking a look at the SVN repository, I again recommend you to contact the devs via IRC. But please do not expect them to help you in terms of providing step-by-step instructions of how to do it. All developers that are contributing to this project are doing so in their spare time and will rather spend their precious spare time on working on the project than coaching someone through his efforts to modify the weapon system.

Also if you intend the weapons you would like to add to be part of official Nexuiz then you should discuss that at least with the developers in order to make sure the weapon balance won't be broken. This is very important, as the current weapon balance of Nexuiz is one of the best I have ever seen in an FPS game.

No, wait, it's the best, not one of the best :D

Zym and md3 are model formats. qc is source code.

So if you want to change the appearance of the weapon edit the models. For the behaviour, it's all in the source.
