I think a ranking system would be great, although, it would be best if there were a central server where this info would be tracked.

If achievements were to be a social status symbol, then there would need to be game-wide verification by authentication servers, as proposed by some of XenoTheBlind's community members...

But to properly replicate the STEAM™ eXPerience™, server-client file verification would have to follow, and then invasive runtime scans.

UPDATE!!!

-Medals are now sorted
-The "more golden" medal at the end
-Special medals

EDIT: you need to have the bronzen one before you earn the next one. (and so on...)
(damn all these things gonna be weeks of work)

cool, but srsly, there should be at least a bit of difficulty to get such a medal, maybe replace "5 frags" with "250 frags" on DM (the bronze one).

EDIT: just realized that you were talking about frags IN A ROW...

Also, maybe give the medals (there could also be cups etc for other types of tasks) a small discription as name, like on Call of Duty, hope you understand me ...

Nice idea and cool looking medals, though this will be somewhat difficult to implement it the right way. In an open source game it is very easy to cheat to get the medals, and since it would be nice to use them online as well - the system has to be protected in some way.

I think the best way to go is to have medals per server, where a server can change the amount of needed caps/kills/specials. To secure this properly it would be best to use the "global authentication system", which unfortunately isn't implemented yet. It would also be a good idea to set a minimal real player limit for the achievements to count.

If it is just saved in a sort of .cfg file, is it possible to protect it with a password?

i don't play cod but do you mean this:

but "5 frags in a row" is a discription
