--gtkRadiant-- Program Assistance (please read)

Postby gracjan202 » Wed Sep 02, 2009 3:21 pm

I just downloaded gtkRadiant because I want to build a death match map for nexuiz. It installed cleanly onto vista 32 bit, but when I run the program my different views do not load any graphic information. As in, they do not render well, anything. I have searched the forums and google for what I think the problem would be, and have found no information about the problem.

I have ubuntu 8.1 as a secondary operating system, but I don't want to shutdown and boot into ubuntu every time I want to do map editing. So in before anyone says real programmers use linux, it simply is not happening. I have to many development projects that are using windows based programs to be designed, and I would love to work in gtkRadiant on windows vista as well.

If anyone has experienced a similar problem (gtkRadiant failing to render 3d graphics when loaded) and has fixed it or knows of information to correct the problem, please post in this thread. I'm not REALLY in a hurry to get this done, but every day I open the program and try to fix the problem is another day where I want less and less to work with the program. It's very disgruntling and discouraging, especially with no easily found support.

You could try NetRadiant (which comes with nexuiz) and see if you can get that to work.

It should be in your nexuiz/extras folder. Personally I dont know if it runs in linux but it might be worth it to give it a shot.
Possibly not the worst mapper in the world.

Thank you Sepelio, your answer works. I was unaware that NetRadiant existed, but netRadiant runs perfectly on my computer. So funny how 1 sentence answered the problem, thanks again.

Good stuff. I'll look forward to seeing that map!
