I've pretty much given up on it. Grrrr. It contributed to my first asthma attack in 2 years. LOL. Spent like 24 hours up trying to get it to work.
Fixed some stuff. Bases are now correctly mirrored, etc.
But as soon as I add health/shield/ammo and guns the framerate drops to around 6FPS. The funny thing is, without them, the framerate is pretty damned alright at a steady 100+, even with the fishies flying overhead (yes, they actually fly around the entire map) and the relatively open topology.
Sorry, I can't bear to look at it again. >.< Grrr... I was also planning to add erm... burr models, scatter them around randomly, and give them a kill volume, which will take a chunk of your health if you run into one (prevents the relatively easy access from red to blue base).
But bah.
Anyway, I will release ALL the models and textures (only diffuse, since the map assets were literally made in less than 30 minutes for each model, most less than 10). The sky shader, the .map file, and whatever else was used in this. If someone can make it work and show me where I went wrong, I'd be a much happier mapper for nexuiz in the future (and I had such grand plans T_T).
Anyway, I can't release this now though. We have only one week left for the Make Something Unreal Contest. My work schedule's tight, and I can't fit this in right now. Next week (post November 13) I will pack them all up and post it here.
EDIT: No one linked me to a thread or something on how to package pk3's as well (not as if I'm at the final compile stage yet anyway, since when I try to do even the least nexuiz required specs compile, it takes forever on vis compile). :/ I'll just keep the assets in their appropriate folders and compress it with .7z for the meantime... that is, next week.
