Am I late?

Hello,

I'm new to the game and forums and I'm struggling through the posts to find some working links for editing-tutorials.
Is there any site up-to-date? I found many helpfull pages, unfortunately most pages are out of date, or simply dead.
It would be great - if someone could point me in the right direction. Any active community or helpfull links are appreciated

Also, I'm wondering if there is still some developement going on. Any active mods or map-projects or even game enhancements?

Hello and welcome to the forum!
To answere your latest question first: no, you're not late at all, the game is under constant development now for 4 years, and maybe the patch/stable release dates shift by a few months back and forth, the SVN version has day by day updates.
To ask questions about developing, use the development section of the forum. To smaller/non code stuff, we usually use the editing section, so you're in the right place
You can find the tinkering / editing community mainly on IRC, on the quakenet network in #nexuiz.editing .
For guides?
Well, yes, that's a problem. For starting, you can read any of the quake3 mapping guides, most basic stuff just works here too. For coding, you should experience with QuakeC guides. The game editing wise is not undocumented, but you can find them at several sources. Once I finish the exams period, I plan to put together a mapping related info/source site, as I won't have to worry about uni anymore
