IIRC I've only posted this pic on irc. So here's a new shot of Greatwall RELOADED:

A very grapple friendly map.

Looks interesting. I hope you'll get lost of the "leaf-box" around your map ;)

Don'T worry, sure I will ;) This is only a test compile, to see how stuff looks like ingame.

Can you guess what it is yet?

Yes, the textures are pretty ugly still, the lift doesn't work, it's not the right scale, many of the items aren't right, the teleporter doesn't work, neither do half of the deathmatch starts and id's brushes are a mess but it's getting there.

Oh it has, I played that map with my entire class from time to time when I went to high school. Even our only girl in the class played that, lool. It's fun, I was good, always top 3 :) Though it was a lot of slaughter, no safe place, people everywhere. This map will kinda be like basement I think but a little better as it has little more space to move in.

Also you need to fix so that there will be lightning between those two pillars! :P

Thought it would get some attention.

Actually it's not a remake, it's a port! Romero released the .map files under the GPL so I've taken the House of Chthon and ported it to Nexuiz. Although Nexuiz will use Quake 1 maps directly, I decided to port it to the Quake 3 map format as that's what everyone works with now. This is actually easier than it sounds.

Here is the map in it's current state:

I've scaled it up by 1.4 as Nexuiz is 'bigger' than Quake. The lighting seems a bit broken in this build at the ends of the lower level. I replaced the lift with a jump pad as that's better for DM. No way near finished, let me know what you think.

Makes me really wish Zym was out so we could see a full-on Quake remake with the open source textures and new AI :)

I really like how that map is turning out. Any chance that we'll see the electricity running in it again? ;)
