No idea how to code this... what I did was just extending the existing fog, and adding some code to fog the skybox. The trick is that fog now has a min/max distance to specify where fog starts and ends - and sky counts as the max distance, and no longer as infinite.

Silvercity will actually use this, but not a fog as strong as I show on the screenshot... it will look more like http://emptyset.endoftheinternet.org/~p ... 0035-1.jpg and http://emptyset.endoftheinternet.org/~p ... 0035-2.jpg - I think it fits the map. It shouldn't impact gameplay much that way, so people will actually play with this fog and not simply turn it off :P
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

As you are a mapper, here a description how to use it:

"fog" "density red green blue mindist maxdist"

Anything farther away than maxdist will be fogged as if it were just maxdist away. You probably want to set mindist to zero and maxdist to something above or near the "diameter" of the map.

I committed the fog to silvercity in svn.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

perhaps you should join div with the silvercity one? because the silvercity div made, look much better. the old one is.. ugly. so developing two silvercity versions in paralel might not be the good aproach.

I believe tZork and div are in contact ;)

btw.: great improvements on silvercity tZork !
Only nitpick on the screens so far is the floor which still looks boring

edit.: oops.... missed the thread for the map xD

I thought the foggy city looked a bit nautical, silver fog sweeping over the side of the tanker.

Maybe to encourage the nautical feeling, a few anchors carefully positioned or a cannon or two with a few balls stacked nearby. :D
