Hello :) and thank you.

SavageX pointed out that 1200 triangles is too much for an item like this so I optimized it and it now has 860 triangles. The rest of the details will be made using a normal map. Since blender's capabilities at creating normal maps are quite limited someone else will have to do it but I'll provide the person with a highpoly model and unwrap the lowpoly one.

I think ~800 polies definately is much better than > 1200 :)

For the high poly version you are free to use as many polies as you wish, btw.

Nvidia Melody ( http://developer.nvidia.com/object/melody_home.html ) can reduce the polygon count automatically and generate the normalmap in the process.

Does this tool look useful for you?

Looks useful enough. It might take a bit longer for me to make the highpoly version since I don't have that much experience with this.
