More detail pls.

What kinda model? Mapobject model, or playermodel?

For mapobjects, all kind of model formats in any size is ok. Just make sure it is an mdl, md3, 3ds, ase, or something that darkplaces can use.

For player models Nexuiz uses the zym format, this is special for this game. There's a method to make these, but dunno how, but Vermeulen can help you.

Oh, and there's a thing about own player models. If the other player does not have the model you're using, he wil only see a white sphere, very annoying. So currently, if there's no force model or default model for missing player model, there's no meaning for an own player model yet.l

Yes I mean playermodel.
Ive made it in Cinema4D, can I export this in a "zym" file? With a tool or something else, or I have to make a new one with the program that makes *.zym files?

This is the Model I want to use in Nexuiz (I can change a few details etc.):

I just want to use this on lan partys, in our next one we will play nexuiz, too. ANd I can send them all the zym file there my model is in.

The zym compile tools are probably in this package:

The note was taken but there is not much we can do about it right now.. Yeah we 'just' need to create some checksums and compare those.. But creating such things needs time and someone to work on it.

There are cheats for every game that is out there. No matter if they use punkbuster or what else. Having a check for data integrity might make it harder to cheat but not impossible. Also many anti-cheat programs are bad performance wise as they keep scanning the harddisc for cheats.
And for a bad example: I heared bad things about Q4 in that regard.. That sometimes you get kicked just for having a map installed that the server does not have. Not sure if thats true though.

Yeah its nice to have some way to dedect cheats. It makes people feel better but its hard to do it right. I still think the best way to deal with this issue is to have user accounts. But as with the thing above it needs someone to do it :).
For the time being the ladder and posting screenshots and demos is the best way to know there is no cheating.

Some random rant thats close to the issue..
I got acussed of cheating again the other day. Was very late at night as i could not sleep. Ai was with me.. I really would like to know why only i got acussed.. Ai was at least as good as i. The funny (or sad) thing is that this f*cking b*stard left with the comment "time to delete this shit".. Guess he should get some common sense first.. why in the world would one delete a game because someone else was (in his mind) cheating? I'm really beginning to hate those whinners that can't stand getting their ass whipped after installing a game.. Some others play this game for a year. Of course he will get owned!

Cheaters are in every game... You cant stop them.
Hmm, there are a few ways to detect them.. Dont know If you know "DMW - Anti Cheat Tool" for gaems like Medal of Honour Allied Assault and / or MoH:Spearhead. Ive helped them to develop this application. It works simple and there arent any mistakes it makes, like kicking a player, because he has a map isnt on server (just for example ;)).

For Nexuiz I can watch, Its working on Dark Places Engine, or? Anything else I have to know?? ;)

I can try to make a little test, anti cheat for Nexuiz, that watches your pk3s.. But i cant guarantee soemthing ;)

Well you can always get on irc and ask people there.. i'm not really into anticheating.
Then you'll also get that 1on1 match you mentioned in the other thread :)
