I would suggest that the final maps are the ones that get submitted to the jury by the mapper. (via PM link or whatever).

Note: the jury still needs to be announced. I personally asked Morfar and kojn so far, and they both agreed.

If the jury is to be formed from the best, then Dresk needs to be in the pool. I know most don't know him, but he IS the best Nexuiz player around. Granted, he doesn't play standard Nexuiz (He only plays the Spidflisk Mod), but his skills would NOT change if he did. Anyway, its a shame he's not considered in many things as this. Dresk really has great ideas and knowledge of what makes a great game.

...and just because they are the best, doesn't mean they know what a good map should be. I'm not saying any of the current ones selected for the jury are not up to the challenge (I know that both should be on the jury), only that maybe we need to expand the selection. :)

Well, get him on here then :-)

I just assumed Dresk doesn't "do" forums, or something.

He's a fickle one, that Dresk :-P

On a side note... you really suspect that Dresk is better than kojn? interesting. We should scrape together some donation money to have Dresk fly to Europe for a Nexuiz tournament.

Bah. I guess we'll never know.

I'll post my map ... soon. Just needs some performance improvement, detail, fixes, items, hint brushes in the right places (list goes on forever  )

Anyway, I began mapping about one and a half week ago. My goal is to not finish last :D

We don't have a jury yet but i would like to see all the entries on a server somewhere so regular players can vote for their favourite. Maybe this can happen on the first week of judging or something.
My map is a mess. It's a piss poor example of mapping technique so i kinda hope i lose but i think it would be a total blast to play.

question- Am I correct in assuming that a map cant be 2048 cubic units, but not fit in a cube? For example, if the map was really long but very narrow....

the map must be in a 2048 cube

Every map should be posted in the deadline and after the deadline some one make a poll where the community can vote thier favourtis :!:

Actually... does just the inside of the map have to be in the cube, or does the outside have to be in there too? That is, is it still legal if the outer walls are outside the cube in the editor? As these are discarded while compiling the map, the map would then fit in the cube AFTER compiling.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.
