Most of you know who kojn is. Well he likes to go fast....very fast. One way of showing how fast he likes to go is to create run demos of flag captures on specific maps.

Anyway, he challenged me to beat a time on one of the CTF maps that, unfortunately I haven't been able to accomplish...yet (a full second off!). So I chose a map. The map was CaptureCity.

Kojn recorded a time (flag capture) of 3.28 seconds. I however recorded a time of 3.18 seconds. He has yet attempted to beat this time. I just thought it would be fun to get a little competition going on flag captures starting with capturecity. So are you up to the challenge?

If so, here's the rules:

1. You must have PROOF of the time (flag) capture! (See the 4th RULE!)
2. All captures are to be done with regular (PURE) Nexuiz settings.
3. The quad cannot be used!
4. The Hook cannot be used!
5. The demo or .avi (PROOF) needs to be uploaded so that challengers may view the run.
6. If a demo is uploaded, Please Provide the exact time of the capture. This will eliminate having to watch a demo all the way through.
7. There are two ways of holding a record. 1. Is to capture using any weapon available on the map. This will be displayed as (Weapons) under the record holder section. 2. Is to NOT USE any weapons at all. This is pure running skill. It will be displayed as (No Weapons) under the record holder section.

I set some rules as well for specific maps

No Strength should be used for any runs.

On the cb_ctf4_beta2 run that carlyle is on about, this is done without the use of the laser...and i purposely used a slightly longer route as i want people to try and beat the time


I also have a run on greatwall which is about 8.xx seconds, I will upload for you guys.

I've also started making a few runs on maps like lavaflag (where it is possible to do fast / near perfect runs on a server with players), which i might make a short low-quality movie of.

While these are great times, I see you used the "Quad" to do so. I guess I should have made it more clear in the rules...or just have taken it out, but all runs for "this" challenge should be done with just pure Nexuiz skill. While picking up the quad and blasting yourself 1000mph is fun and extremely easy...it kind of takes away from the skill.

And for future attempts at a record...Please all challengers Record a demo or upload an AVI of the capture.

yeah i feared so. i have that too sometimes when viewing others demos, due to lack of map. there are several versions of Capturecity.
