Why records in a team game as CTF is?

When I started playing Nexuiz I loved instantly "Capture the Flag" mode because since I was child I'd loved seen many playsers together in teams.
One night, it was very late, I met some players from different teams around a flag. They looked like ancient warriors who discussed a plan around the fire. They were talking about good points to change direction, weapons changes, boost... but suddenly one of them left as a lightning with the flag on his shoulder. A few moments, a sound and a message on the screen "[he] captured the flag breaking the prevoius the record"! They said to me were playing "Fast Capture" (FC): Capture the opponent's flag and bring it into your base in the shortest time. During the FC noone shoots to the flagcarrier.
At first I thought that run like a lightning burning all their energy in a few moments it was not useful to a team game. But then I saw one player using the same technique studied that night in a real CTF team match. Of course it's often an impractical technique and sometimes a bad idea to do so during a match. But could be a good training. That's why training and have fun with FC.


Why store the records?

In a little time a new Nexuiz version will be released. Probably all of those crazy races will be lost because new and different conditions in new versions will have effect on records too. And again some night, somewhere, dancers will gather for to fly on new maps in a different air.
Then I thought that was not a bad idea to save these amazing races, at least starting from version 2.4.2 or, if you saved your old data, earlier too. You will find a different thread for each Nexuiz version. If not created, do it by yourself copying categories and rules.


Here we go!

And here is the NVFC "Nexuiz Version Fastest Captures": Capture the opponent's flag and bring it into your base in the shortest time. Traininig to search the fastest way to capture the opponets flag and, depend on the category you want to participate, use all the weapons, items of the map and tricks of the game. The NVFC (except for crazy and extreme modes) is intended for the absolute time record of each map, made with a specific version of Nexuiz "as it is", on public, restricted servers and local mode with same conditions and similar settings.


Final list of NVFC.

Among all times only the best record will appear in the final list of NVFC. If more than one player reaches the same time, and this seems unbreakable (reached time limit), then will be appointed only the first player which reported the the new record, but will be added a note near his time. The other players will be named in the note.You will find a thread for each Nexuiz version in [edit] "Nexuiz - Contests" section of this forum, but if unavailable create by yourself copying/pasting the categories and rules.


How to report your Records.

There isn't a main post collecting the records (as instead e.g. the sticky challenge). It will be made at the end.
Then open one post here as reply and use it as "blog". Divide into two sections using a line: Use the first part for your records, the second for report records by other players you found around. Edit your records only in one post so If me or anyone who opened the thread will be absent for a long time, the entire thread will remain updatable by his singles posts. If you see someone who has done better times than yours then update data in your post, delete yours and report of him, but not if he used another version of Nexuiz or different conditions (e.g. using a revisited map version). Post your record and wait to see if someone will do better. Finally we will have a list of the Nexuiz absolute records.
Don't forget to report Category (SPR, TR, MR and so on), nickname, your Nexuiz version (here v2.4.2), server name where you did it (So we all can see your masterpiece), map name, map version (v1r1, v1r2, and so on) date and... your record : )


Warning. In NVFC nothing is official. This is only for our fun.



Note A
Remember that servers could incur problems and lost your record. So save, and if you want post, something of what you have done if could be useful, helpful or beautiful: a screenshot (apreciated but not necessary), a link to a video (apreciated but not necessary) and so on (edit with Gimp for reducing your record on screenshots is not a funny idea ; ). Reduce the weight of your images if you can.

About records marked in local mode If you have achieved a record locally during your training with non standard Nexuiz settings (e.g with "god mode" on) you can signal the possibility of capture in less time. Obviously it will not be included in the final list of records but I was thinking to mention it as note.


Here are categories:

1. Player Record - Public Server (PR-PS): Connect to a public or restricted server and capture the flag as soon as possible without getting help from a friend or a mistake of an opponent who pushes you. During the FC noone shoots to the flagcarrier. Hooks not allowed.

2. Player Record - Local Mode (PR-LM): Capture the flag as soon as possible using your own computer and downloaded maps. Hooks not allowed.

3. Player Record - Hooks - Public Server (PR-H-PS). Use hooks and all other weapons and items of the map on public or restricted servers.

4. Player Record - Hooks - Local Mode (PR-H-LM). Use hooks and all other weapons and items of the map on your own computer.

5. Player Record - Extreme Mode (PR-EM): Change Nexuiz settings, change his code, mod everything you want to be faster than light. Use all weapons, items, hooks and everything else. Report your changes. Only three rules: Respect the map (e.g. don't run through the walls), don't use "god mode" and post a link to your amazing video.

6. Team Record (TR): Get push by one or more friends to run faster. Report how many friends and how they helped you. Don't forget to share the glory. If you are the one who will be pushed to the flag, change your nickname to include the nickname/s of your friend/s.

7. Team Record - Hooks (TR-H): Get push by one or more friends using hooks to fly faster. Report how many friends and how they helped you. Don't forget to share the glory. If you are the one who will be pushed to the flag, change your nickname to include the nickname/s of your friend/s.

8. Team Record - Extreme Mode (TR-EM): Change Nexuiz settings for you and your friends, mod everything you want to have faster teamwork. Use all weapons, items, hooks and everything else. 9. Match Record (MR): If during a game an opponent or a friend hit and you break a record faster than you could do alone, describe how it happened a say who "helped" you. This is useful because the server will register only your nickname but really you must to share the glory : ) Moreover other players will know that could be hard to break that record alone.

10. Team or Match Capture - Crazy Mode (TMC-CM): Have you captured in some funny way during a match or when you was joking with friends? Can your team push you from flag to flag without never touching the floor? Your teammates put grenades everywhere and you jump like a frog? Have you found a very stupid way to capture? Invent what you want and link your funny video! Better you edit the video from different players views. Naturally no limitations : )

All good but remember: Capture the Flag is basically a "team game" and all your work must serve your team. NVFC could be only training to be helpful to them.
