http://sourceforge.net/projects/dsn/Download that and unzip it directly to your Nexuiz folder. Your FPS should go to about 60 or so.
"r_showsurfaces 3" is a command to consider also.
I always play with that fps and always have lag and Internet Connection Time Outs because of wireless
I'm getting used to it
