as the page officially says people will get notified whether they are in by mail (NOT e-mail)

BTW, all the germans here might read the last couple of posts in the pc-max.de thread ... weird information there about not allowing players outside of germany. I'm asking for better and clearer information

okay, I could get a clear statement:

Players living outside of Germany are allowed to play the tournament. However, they will not get any prices if they get ranked 1st, 2nd or 3rd. People who are participating (who signed up on the page) will get informed via mail once registration has completed (once 64 players have signed up).

i think that sucks a bit...and why do i have to get contacted via mail and not e-mail...that's silly imo for us 'outsiders'? especially since i dont like giving my information out freely..whcih i didnt.

Some more information I was able to find out:

As you know the tournament starts with usual K.O rounds, which means that there are 4 K.O. rounds so that the player count gets reduced to 4 players (starting with 64 players). Please note that in every match in all these 4 rounds the maps "a" and "b" will be played. Once 4 players are left the "final rounds" start, which means that each player has to play against every other player, which means that every player will have 3 matches. In all these 3 matches the maps "c" and "d" will be played. I am the one to judge this kind of system, but I think I may say that I do not like it. However: These four maps aren't defined yet.

All players are forced to play on the Nexuiz servers provided by the PC-Max.de Team. As I could find out the german company hosting these servers is "Gameserver Host", and their servers are located in Franfurt, Germany. You can visit the following page to get some IPs of their "test servers", so that you can at least test your ping:

at 30th of September the signup statistics were:

- 43 signups (german players)
- 8 signups (foreign players)

As the event is going to start at the end of octobre the signup period has been extended until 25th of octobre

I had initially signed up but was contacted that I could bot get any prize shipped to me so I withdrew to let other folks have a shot at winning those prizes. I was a bit disappointed that they could not ship to a country next to Germany but was pleased that they did contact me about it beforehand. I wish any friends that will compete in these matches fun and success !

I got a email as well. As the prerounds will take place on two days (since it are about 4 rounds) I guess that 2 rounds will be played on saturday and 2 on sunday. There is no more information given, not in german either.
