Generally Nexuiz has no influence on your connection, so if you really have THAT severe problems (ping of 3000 would be 3 seconds lag which also should make you see a clock as indication of a shorttime lost connection) i'm not sure if we can help. It could be a long range of possible things..
For example if you use WLAN thats a bad idea as its often plagued with problems. It could be a crappy (dsl) router, just your ISP which shares your netresources with other people, or maybe you just joined a server that in an other country and you have a bad and unstable connection to it.
It might be worth a try to hit the refresh button quite a few times to see if the ping you see is stable or changes a lot. That might be easier with an external server browser but i muss confess i have no clue which ones work on windows. ST2 (
http://st2.sourceforge.net/ ) is a java browser that supports Nexuiz.
It could also be an indication that your computer is infected with a virus or spyware or just that your windows is 'getting old'. Maybe its a bad firewall programm.
Its just hard to say what the cause might be. But its worth to watch the ping (can be seen in the scoreboard) also to run a good anti virusprogram, to run Nexuiz in window mode and keep the task manager open to see if some programs eats away CPU time..
