Joystick allways moving

Postby uldics » Mon Jan 22, 2007 9:51 am

I just updated my Nexuiz through Debian Etch Adept manager and now when I start my Nexuiz, it is allways moving in same relative direction. When I move my joystick, it moves, but I am not able to center my joistick to absolutely zero. Config seems to not allow disabling joystick, as there is nothing said about joysticks.

How do I disable joystick?

Try: "joy_enable 0"
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Thanks, it worked in console, but how do I get it permanent? Every time I start game, I have to write it again, while being totally helpless.

Either use "seta joy_enable 0" in the game console or create a new text file ~/.nexuiz/data/autoexec.cfg and add "joy_enable 0" there.

Ok, both worked, thanks! I will stick with the seta solution, though I dont know how it works or where it stores that setting.

It's stored in ~/.nexuiz/data/config.cfg along with all other settings.

It actually doesnt. Dont know why, but setting works. There is no such line in that config file, after i wrote it in console.

Edit: Strange, but I did it third time and now there is such line. Wierd...
