BUG BUGGY BUG W T F !"! 2.2.3.

Postby Dreamer » Sun Jan 28, 2007 7:42 pm

Im using Ubuntu Edgy eft and 2.2.2. version of nex ran nicely to perfect. :D

Today I downloaded v2.2.3 and to my surprise S hit da fan in a spectacular

manor. First, my HUD gets a mind of its own  and proceeds to show me

the stats of armor health and such since that was neatly tucked away before.

Surprised I tried to find something that would get rid of that (on this particular

forum) and I actually did. So far so good. :?

I ran da game again and tried to write something to my teammate

, so when I hit the "-" key the screen got smaller and smaller and eventually

stopped at 5x7 cm with a bright red/grey checkered box where the crosshair

should be and when I hit that key again it just writes out posts (like it

was supposed to). I tryed every key I got to get that F screen bigger

again, but nothing seemes to work. Any ideas??????

Oh , and also now, the pic of Alientrap when I start is all checkered.

Ps.: I apologise 4 my lousy english.. Not from UK.

Just go into Option/Player and change 'viewsize' to 110 again for the problem with the small display and your hud.

For the problems with your key config// thats strange. When running on linux your nexuiz settings get saved into ~/.nexuiz/data/config.cfg. What you descript sounds like it did not do that but i have no idea why right now..

Maybe on his system, SDL uses the US layout and GLX uses the system layout? In that case, start over with the configuration and set the key bindings again.

Just an idea to explain the different behaviour of the - key.

Apart from that, can you press shift-escape, then type "condump" and look for errors in the condump.txt file?

1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

When you are it, please enter crosshair in the console and report what value it does show.
It will look like
Code: Select all
"crosshair" is "8" ["5"]
i'm interesting in the value you get in the place of were i have 8.. The checkerboard thing is displayed when some of the crosshair images are not found. Either you have some files missing (did you maybe download the patch and not the full version) or if that value is higher then 8 which is the current numbers of crosshairs.
