If u got 2 BSOD ur either a rookie at computers or your hardware is older than dirt.

1) i study computer science and have no problems setting up & using real operation systems
2) it's a Sony Vaio SZ1 notebook, about half a year old

Stop bashing windows allready

I'm only pointing out the facts. Btw: trying to update the freshly installed XP professional to SP2 rendered it totally unusable, after showing an error that "service.exe has crashed" it doesn't even boot anymore...
So why should i stop right now? Just cause windoze stopped working?

Only windows i ever had problems with was windows 95.

i had BSOD half a dozen times in 95 and maybe 2 times in XP.
