A few months ago, I setup my laptop as dual boot with Ubuntu edgy. Things seemed to be working well. I got the Nvidia drivers installed and the NDISWrapper (yes, I'm using a WLAN connection...nothing I can do about that right now). Then I took a break from Nexuiz for a couple of months because of school. I am back to playing Nexuiz again for the past month or so and during that time Nexuiz was upgrade from 2.2 to 2.2.3. I also notice that I'm having a very difficult time landing with the Nex I didn't get it. I read that the reload time of the Nex was extended, but it also seemed like the Nex had a bit of a delay when I fired. I was just unable to get it to aim up. If I hit anyone with it, it was luck.
So, I played with Nexuiz like this for the last few weeks. Tonight, I booted up to my Windows partition just to compare. I immediately felt that Nexuiz was more responsive with just moving around the maps. Then I got to use the Nex and I was landing again. Wow. I mean, it's not like night and day, but it's a noticeable difference that really affects my gameplay. For a while, I was avoiding using the Nex because I couldn't get it to work for me.
So, anyone have any ideas of why there might be this difference? Is it a difference of the NDISWrapper compared to a native driver? Dave mentioned something abouta mouse setting. I'm going to compare the config files and see if I changed the config on my windows version.
