Hi all!

I'm actually running on this computer :

- ASUS A7N8X-E deluxe
- 1go ram
- geforceFX 5950 (256mo)
(Leadtek WinFast A380 Ultra TDH MyVivo)
-Sata I hards drives

and nexuiz is running in :
- 1440x900
- 32-bit
- fullscreen
- anisotropic filter off
- texture quality medium

and all effects turned off...

and i only get about 25-30 fps !!

Could someone help me with that?? I'm really lost at time :s

I've got a 19' wide screen, so 800x600 is a bit sad :s

I dont think resolution is that big problem with your video card. As the Geforce FX Series quite sucks with the openGL 2.0 shaders, you should just disable them in the effects menue and get a lot more frames hopefully.

If it's still to few fps then, just use a preset by opening the console with <shift+esc> and typing

exec low.cfg <enter>
vid_restart <enter>

I've got a 17" widescreen laptop at 1400x900, but I want a good frame rate, so 800x600 it is.

800x600 should stretch to fill up your 19" screen.

If you are running Linux and it does not, then you need to change your xorg.conf settings

BTW, are you running Linux? Or Windows?

But 720x450 would be worth a try. It's not a standard resolution, but you can manually enter it if you open the console (shift+esc) and enter:
Code: Select all
vid_width 720
vid_height 450
vid_restart

Edit:

Yes, it will with most display drivers & dfps, but it will have a totally wrong a/r and the dfp's interpolation will make it look blurry.

I've aldready disabled penGL 2.0 shaders, and i just get 30 fps :s

I'll try all tips you gave me, and report you my results!

Thx for you welcome & help, and see ya soon!

I will try the 720 x 450 when I get home.
