Help:Nexuiz crashed

Postby marine1992 » Sat Apr 28, 2007 1:18 pm

First of all I'm new here so sorry if I break the rules or something but I'm too lazy to read them.

Anyway, every time when tried I play(not launch) Nexuiz(Linux version) it crashed.I thought the problem may be cause of the game performance so i turn everything to low but it's still crash. Please help.Does it have anything to do with the game bug or the video card driver.I'm using ATI open source driver(Xorg 7.2) in Ubuntu Feisty Fawn(7.04).

PS:Sorry for my poor english though :)

Hmm, 1st, check that you are running the newest version (2.2.3).

Then, ATI cards are known for crashing (had one myself :( )..... try another 3d application,
eg. ppracer.

For X11 you could also try out the closed source driver from ATI (fglrx). This should also give a better performance.

If that doesn't help you have to wait for the experts . 8)

But will probably crash just as often :P

@marine1992: when does it crash? immediately after starting, as soon as you enter a game or sometime during gameplay? If it's crashing just a few seconds after starting/joining a game, it might help if you disable "OpenGL 2.0 Shaders" in the menu (Options->Effects), that prevents similar crashes with the fglrx driver...

ok thanx it works now. It's HDR lightning and shadows that makes the game crash. But I still don't get it why Nvidia open source driver works better(with all graphic effects turn on) than ATIs!

And yes,I'm using Nexuiz latest version(2.2.3)
