This build isn't the game i love, its laggy, and i have a 25-40 ping, I'm running dual 7600GT's on a AMD 4400, the game played flawlessly on the old build.. I still get over 230 FPS but the game isn't the same, its just plain laggy, perhaps its PL..
It isn't just me, its many that i play with regularly, they all have the same issues with the new build.

Whoever runs the standard Nex server in NY PLEASE go back to the old version, perhaps its server side, if not..im giving up on the game i have come to love..
the last build was the most stable and fastest..
please guys, i love this game, somethins wrong..
I REALLY wanna cus alot here but i won't..ARGGHHH..
I WANT NEX BACK :(

Then why do current servers feel better for me than old ones? Now that is odd...

Anyway, with your ping, try on the console "cl_movement 0" and check if that improves it.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

I will give that a try, it actually seems like PL..I just cant put my finger on it.

But some players where saying that they are experiencing the same issue with the SP game, I haven't tried it yet but if thats the case maybe its not the net code.

And Altobe still rapes me regardless of the build

There defiantly is a problem. This only happens when you get a bunch of players on the screen (at least 3 not including yourself), and the more players the worse it gets. It's not a bandwidth or even FPS issue, there is something funky with the game code and I am guessing it has something to do with having it's roots in Quake 1.

If I am on a DM server with say, 10 other people, and I have a great ping, and there are only 2 or fewer players on the screen, all is fine. Much better than 2.2.3 in fact. But, when I got more people on the screen, like 3, 4, 5 and 6+ it goes downhill. Even when my ping and FPS are great. The movement of player models and projectiles becomes EXTREMELY choppy, this has plagued Nexuiz from the get-go. It will look like they are moving at 4 or 5 fps, even if the actual game is currently rendering at 60fps.

Please dont try to say this is just me or I need a faster computer, because it's not just me and I do not need a faster computer. My FPS and ping are always great. Its got to be something with the movement coding in Nexuiz. This happens on all computers I have played Nexuiz on, from Windows to Linux and Mac OS. On fast and slow computers, AMD and intel and nvidia and ATI.

that is a well known issue and is because most of the player models are ridicolously high on poly-count. on those maps where you see many players at the same time that is a big issue. If you know any modellers, let us know :)

sorry, i now read your entore ost, and most of what i said is useless :)

I really have never noticed such problems.. but i'm on nvidia and use low settings for playing.
My fps never drop below 125fps and unless you use ati and did not read and follow the suggestions the in changelog i have no idea what could cause those problems..

No flaming, but, do you really wanna tell us you never suffered framedrops with many players in your field of view? Come on, that's quite unbelieveable!

Additionally I can confirm problems with choppily moving enemy players, especially in dogfights, most recognizable with just one opponent.

Nevertheless I extremely recommend building up a new config.cfg when having problems and playing on not too high settings.

According to the changelog there ain't too many suggestions regarding problems, concerning the posted problems here. Almost everybody here uses Nvidia cards.

I rather think there's some necessary changes on the server configs to be done. Well, dunno :?

Anybody who says they cant see the choppy movement is a person who is saying something that is not 100% accurate  ! You can see it quite clearly in this video:
http://forums.alientrap.local/viewtopic.php?t=1672

Now please understand I am not saying this is a bad game, things like this are expected because it is free and nobody is being PAID to work on it. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. I am simply noting the existence if this problem so that it may be worked on for future versions! I find it just a LITTLE odd that the nexuiz devs are the ones saying they don't see a problem. kinda like back when the x-fi was first released, the creative forums were flooded with angry users complaining of crackles and pops in the sound, and the creative employees were saying they could not hear anything or find any problems. Now it is not THAT bad in this case but come on people its a little nuts to say you can't see the choppy movement with a lot of players in view!! If you really cant see it I suggest you have your eyes checked out!

And for referance I use a factory overclocked 7800GT. When I play on the absolute lowest settings, things are SUPER fast, sometimes 800+fps, that is until a lot of players come into view. then the choppy movement kicks in just as it does on normal settings

Err... that looks just as good as I'd expect movement to be on eggandbeacon. With a lot of action going on the server bandwidth limit gets exceeded and not every entity receives an update. So ask your server admin to up the rate limit a bit - and also increase your rate limit.
