Hi, I have same problem like nevo and carpexx with Nexuiz 2.3. I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 with ATI Radeon x1300 and fglrx restricted driver.

glxinfo| grep -i direct\\\|string output:

Code: Select all
server glx vendor string: SGI
server glx version string: 1.2
client glx vendor string: ATI
client glx version string: 1.3
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: Radeon X1300 Series
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (2.0.6473 (8.37.6))

First I have installed Nexuiz 2.3 from get deb on Ubuntu 7.4. After Upgrade to Ubuntu 7.10 I have that problem. I've tryed to reinstall Nexuiz 2.3 from Ubuntu 7.10 repos, but no change.

Is that the current version, which supposedly is much faster?

You can't possibly test it a bit further, and try to enable the graphics features in the Nexuiz menu and see if it still crashes on offsetmapping?
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Yes, that is current version and first one which supports AIGLX.

A new driver can be downloaded here:
http://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/ati-d ... x86_64.run

Installation instructions on Uguntu Gutsy:
http://forlong.blogage.de/article/2007/ ... LX-support

I've tested it by enabling graphics features without crashes on offsetmapping till now.
And yes, its a bit faster.
