I found this cvar that, from the sound of it, would be very nice to have enabled. Maybe i could get my second processor to work a bit, that lazy slob
bet when i try to set it to 1 i get

is this supposed to work/known/fixable?

That usually means that either you don't have a dualcore CPU or that your driver doesn't support it. Not sure if it works on PPC at all, or if Apple supports it on Intel only.

Edit: http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn2006/tn2085.html yes, it exists on Intel only.
