Server Logs / Statistics

Postby John Galt » Fri Jul 27, 2007 8:38 pm

Hi all.

I set the logfile name in server.cfg, but no logfile is ever created. What am I doing wrong?

Here is the directive used:
Code: Select all
log_file thegame.log

Also, I was wondering if there is any facility for gathering statistics on matches and games based on the server logs. If not, I might whip something up.

Thanks a bunch

Where did you search for the log? On linux/osx it'll be created in ~/.nexuiz/data

see Nexuiz/Docs/{event,score}log.txt (the parser linked on scorelog.txt is pretty basic, if you want something more sophisticated, ask Sxen or Nil if the send you the script running on dcc)

Thanks! I should've done a find . -name, but I assumed it would be created in the same dir as the server data rather than the home .nexuiz directory.

I'll check out the simple parser and see what else can be done. My thought is eventually to link up the stats to an auto-generated web page.
