never mind i already now , its same as with quake 3 when you have to many maps in data dir. i remember there was a program that couldt handle all the maps you have

but im afraid that it is not compatible

Anyway, in development builds the number of shaders now is unlimited. They'd still eat up lots of RAM, though.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

I used the newest build and yes shaders is increases but not unlimited , atleast not for me , more then 1 gig with maps it cannot handle even with svn build you see missing shaders then

1.21 G in data dir , but now shaders isnt a problem but textures and maby later items or other stuff , items also limited in quake3 255 items or somthing

im trying to find that q3 program that fetches maps from other dirs and place it in data as a temp file so the data dir doesnt grow to big

then you can have unlimited maps without eating all your ram

Actually, just use dlcache as temp dir :P

and it will probably mostly work with Nexuiz... the only difference I see from that perspective is that in Nexuiz, map thumbnails are stored elsewhere.
