Changing nickname in Nexuiz

Hi there, I am starting to get mad at Nexuiz because I cannot permanently rename myself in Nexuiz.

The following steps were taken to get a new nick:

1) Changing the name in config.cfg in _cl_name -> saving config file, starting the game, going to options menu -> OLD(!!!!) nickname. starting local server -> old nickname. restarting game: old nickname, also old nickname written to config again

2) changing nick using the options menu -> old nickname back after game restart

3) changing nick using "name" command -> same story

obviously the name is also saved somewhere else. Where is this ?

For the future as a quickfix I will simply bind the renaming to my desired nick on "space". Maybe Nexuiz will get the hang of it eventually.

create a new .cfg named autoexec.cfg.
then write name [yourname] in this file. (of course replace [yourname] with your desired name...
every time when you start nexuiz, the game will execute the commands in the autoexec.cfg

You are correct. I had my old name programmed in the autoexec.cfg
