Singleplayer Bots override and local server

Postby Zico » Sat Mar 01, 2008 1:48 am

Hello

I am not sure if this is a bug or intended. For me it's very confusing:
I wanted to set up a server for myself with lot's of bots so how do I make the server non-public so no one else will join it?

Just after that I started a singleplayer map - in the mappack champaign. Since with my server testings, I set the max players to 0 and in the Singleplayer maps also no bots joined. Here I am not sure if this is somehow intended or really a bug but I am confused why the settings are taken over to Singleplayer. Anyways it would make the Singleplayer easier for me if I set the max players and bots with it below the map limit. :)

Hehe, can't really be helped :P

You just found one of the many ways to cheat in the campaign. Another way is making a frag, and then setting timelimit -1 ;)

And servers created in the menu are never public. Only dedicated servers should be.
1. Open Notepad
2. Paste: ÿþMSMSMS
3. Save
4. Open the file in Notepad again

You can vary the number of "MS", so you can clearly see it's MS which is causing it.

Aaaahhhh now that explains some things actually.

So: "I am root - I am allowed to cheat." :)
