I've got a really strange problem on ladder servers, as usual I seem to be the only one:

When I'm playing on the delight or spinfusor ladder servers, while the warmup mode I don't have any problems. They begin after a few minutes the match itsself is started. Suddenly I can't hear any hit sounds anymore, chats are not working anymore, I don't get the "you were fragged by..." and "you fragged..." notifications anymore, and the scoreboard doesn't continue counting the frags anymore. This never happens on the pn ladder server.

My ping is always fine, the netgraph doesn't show anything about connection problems, everything seems to be fine. I don't use any firewall, no anti virus, I'm on windows and afaik everything is standard as can be. What the hell is going on? Anybody an idea, or can anybody confirm that problem?

That happened to me once last week while playing 1v1. Some of my sounds went away (not all sound) and I kept respawning where I'm on the floor (no legs) and my weapon wasn't showing on the screen. I had to reboot my computer to get it to stop flaking out. I'm running Windows Vista, so I assume it is some flakiness with that.

That's what I first saw when reading through the text quickly. :D

I do not have any of these problems either, but then again I'm running Debian (No anti-virus/firewall either 8))

Once in a 1on1 (V2.4) I got a similar problem though, my player started running toward a corner on aggressor and I was not able to control the player in any way (movement, view, attack, chat ... everything that needed uplink) But I still saw myself getting fragged and the enemy asking WTF. When I spawned again. >>> Same corner so I F10'd. Weird. Could have been my connection/router too.

Urmel, did you record this weird stuff ? If not, then fucking set autodemo to 1 at least. If you recorded it, does this problem still be there in the demo? If so, could you share it with us please ?

We played in warmup mode for about half an hour before we started the match, and I didn't have any problems then. It all started with F4.

What's not recorded is the messages I typed and dissapeared by entering. SwissCat got the messages, however.

Of course, this also shows the demo recording bug where it is jittery if I move quickly, but that's another issue that has already been reported by other Nexers.

At 14:00 minutes into the demo, I get killed and respawn without any legs and without my weapon showing. It comes back after I alt-tabbed out and came back. Sometimes, it came back on its own. This isn't something new with 2.4 because I've experienced this before, but it's been a while.

That just means the packet from the server telling you to stand back up and redraw your weapon after death was lost in transmission.

I was talking to GreEn last evening. The bugs described by me are probably caused by the Tournament server patch. So, if some skilled anybody could take a look at the source maybe. GreEn at least couldn't exclude the theory that the patch affects the netcode.

To everybody with a deeper view into the netcode: I'd like to ask you to think about the relationship of scoreboard, chats and notifications. Do they use anything common?

Yeah, I am really sorry for that. OTOH it really is unlikely that my mod causes these problems by itself, but a side-effect, somehow.

If even LordHavoc doesn't know what is happening, no1 does :(
